Master the Connections

Classes at Brewster are about collaboration. You’ll learn alongside teachers and fellow students in a close learning environment that inspires teamwork. Together, you’ll explore—and discover—the connections between seemingly unlike disciplines such as math and English, or art and science and how to apply that knowledge in real-world situations.

Picture this: small classes of 10 to 12 students—who are often divided into even smaller groups of two to four—working together with laptops connected to the Brewstranet, the campus computer network. Faculty mentoring students one-on-one as opposed to lecturing from the front of the classroom. Teachers and students deeply engaged in the subject at hand or in a lively debate on current events—and having fun in the process. Students applying their knowledge in practical ways as they learn it—and sharing this knowledge by teaching one another.

Brewster classes offer the best of both worlds—a highly student-focused environment in which teachers work together in teams (eight teachers per a group of approximately 50 students) and interact on a daily basis so they are aware of each individual student’s progress, and powerful technologies designed to encourage collaborative learning and ensure that you get more involved in the classroom here than anywhere else.
