A One-of-a-Kind Campus

Boathouse

Nestled on 80 acres along a half-mile shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee, the Brewster campus is stunning with its abundant green spaces, majestic trees, and quintessential New England buildings offering picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Our campus leads the way in technological infrastructure among secondary schools in the United States. Since integrating technology in classrooms in the early 1990s, we have added a robust e-mail system, a school operating system, curriculum design software, and a sophisticated Web interface for faculty, students, and administrators.

In addition, the laptop computer—specifically Apple PowerBooks and iBooks—have become the foundation of technological development. Students receive their own individual laptops which they use during classes in the Academic Building, over a snack while studying at the Student Center, and in all 31 other buildings on campus. This includes our 20 residence halls, each of which features Internet access.

Besides laptops, Brewster students also enjoy extensive access to a variety of state-of-the-art computers and software in our desktop publishing and journalism and multimedia labs.

In addition to being technologically advanced, Brewster facilities are specifically designed to encourage teaching and learning. They include:

  • Contemporary classrooms featuring desks that double as workstations that not only provide students with flexible seating arrangements but also keep them continuously connected to the Brewstranet—the campus computer network
  • Generous common area spaces for study and play that come equipped with laser printers for the use of students
  • A unique Climbing Barn for both beginners and advanced climbers
  • A new state-of-the-art athletic and wellness center where amenities include team rooms and video feeds for viewing game tapes
  • The Pinckney Boathouse—a spectacular setting for school events
  • An on-campus art center for the visual arts as well as a black box theatre and a larger stage area to host drama performances

Brewster is committed to maintaining a beautiful and highly functional campus. During the last decade, the Academy has approved expenditures of $20 million for new facilities and renovations to existing ones—and access to the latest technology is already seamlessly integrated into the Brewster experience.

Wherever you go on the Brewster campus, one thing is for certain: you’ll feel at home.
