This is a Test

Theatre students performed "This is a Test" November 10–12.

This fast-paced ensemble comedy had just the right blend of wit, slapstick, and mayhem.

The play, written by Stephen Gregg, is test anxiety at its best!  Set in a classroom, during a single period, the audience saw through the eyes of Alan (Jared Anderson) just how difficult concentrating on class work can be when the other students are distracting, the teacher isn't helpful, and he is hearing (and seeing) voices inside his head. 

As the ticking clock reminded Alan, he has only 60 minutes to complete this oh-so-important predictor of his future. But he didn't get the review sheets, the teacher doesn't seem to like him, and his classmates are blatantly cheating. Time is passing and the voices in his head keep reminding him that, although he may be having trouble with the test, his personal life is far, far worse. Then he reaches the essay question. The good news is that it's an opinion essay. The bad news is that it's in Chinese.  And things aren't going to get better.
