An extensive campus-wide network: You’ll have fast, reliable, and secure access to e-mail, Brewster’s Intranet, and the Internet. In addition, you’ll be able to communicate with your teachers and Brewster staff members instantaneously through e-mail and instant messaging.

Extensive network access: With 3,000 Ethernet ports on campus (that’s about six ports per user), you’ll be able to plug in your laptop anywhere on campus and access the resources you need. WiFi is also available to all students in communal areas such as the Student Center, the Estabrook Dining Hall, and the Pinckney Boathouse.

A centralized data management system: Brewster has developed its own customized database system that manages vast amounts of information about students and their growth at Brewster. The information in these databases is entered and accessed through a web-based portal, which makes accessibility as easy as connecting to the Internet. This means that students have one place to go to view current information about their performance in classes, submit assignments, view grade reports, complete evaluation surveys, see the school calendar, and even check the weather. The portal is the place where everyone goes to get the information they need.

Laptop computers: In an effort to prepare our students for the real world—in which computer and technology skills are required in nearly every job—Brewster provides each student with his or her own Apple laptop computer. Your laptop is for more than checking or sending e-mail and surfing the Internet. You’ll download curriculum materials and presentations tailored to your needs by faculty, complete these assignments, and submit them back to your teachers via e-mail or the portal. On-campus computer technicians will ensure that your laptop always operates at the highest level possible.

Curriculum-authoring Tools: Our teachers use the latest software to develop their own electronic curriculum and multimedia lessons personalized just for you. This powerful suite of curriculum-authoring tools allows our faculty to stay on the forefront of the technology revolution, builds on the expert skills and experience of our faculty, and allows them to bring the world to you.

Multimedia resources: You will find many opportunities to express yourself creatively through technology at Brewster. There are courses in digital photography, computer graphics, 3D animation, web design, and videography. Additionally, you will be able to bring your artistic expression to your projects in all your classes through Apple's iLife suite of tools.
