Nordic Skiing

The Team

Brewster's co-ed team competes in District II of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).

The team's home base of trails includes nearby Gunstock Mountain and the Abenaki and Sewall Woods ski trail networks in Wolfeboro. Students compete in 5-10K races competing against Cardigan Mountain School, Holderness School, Kimball Union Academy, Proctor Academy, Putney School, St. Paul's School, and Vermont Academy. In addition to racing, skiers of all abilities can participate, learning the basics of diagonal stride (classical Nordic skiing) and skating.

The Coach

Peter Lassey

Coach Peter Lassey has been cross country skiing since he was five when his parents gave him his first set of skis, and this year marks his third as coach of the Nordic Ski team. He raced competitively from the age of 8 to 18 and has skied in various citizen's races since then. While in high school, he assisted with the creation of a Bill Koch Ski Club in Bow, New Hampshire, teaching children ages 8-13 how to ski and race. Wolfeboro is the ideal location for skiing with plenty of snow, trails, and outdoor enthusiasts.
