Sailing Team Receives New Fleet of Zims

Brewster sailors are thrilled with their latest fleet of seven new sailboats and sails: Zim 420s. The boats were generously donated by a small group of “sailing” parents and past parents and with the new boats and older fleet combined, Brewster is now in a position to once again host championships.

Student Artwork Selected to Exhibit at Silver Center for the Arts
Hiroshi Tanaka ’12 (Aichi, Japan) and Juliet Hadley ’15 (Tuftonboro) recently had artwork selected to exhibit at the Friends of the Arts show at the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University. Hiroshi also won the “Award for Excellence in Sculpture” for his “Love Story” sculpture. His other piece that will display is his textile work “Denim Bag.” Juliet’s 19” ceramic “Backbone” was selected.
TJ Warren '12 Selected to Play in The McDonald's All American Game
Brewster forward TJ Warren '12 (Raleigh, NC) has been selected to participate in the McDonald's All American Game, which will be played Wednesday, March 28th at the United Center in Chicago and televised live on ESPN.  Warren signed in the fall with North Carolina State University and is the first Brewster player to be honored with selection to the premier high school boys all star game.

Brewster Tops Tilton in Front of Record-Breaking Crowd at Smith Center
Before the largest home crowd in history, with sports reporters from The New York Times, the local ABC news affiliate, among other media outlets, and college scouts throughout the packed gym, Brewster improved to 28-0 on the season with a win over Tilton School, 60-56.
Dr. Cooper Awarded Klingenstein Fellowship

Brewster Defeats Tilton Live on ESPN

On January 15, the Bobcats tipped-off against Tilton School at the 2012 Spalding Hoophall Classic, a game that will be televised live on ESPN. Brewster won the game in what was a close, exciting match up. The Brewster Bobcats have maintained their pre-season number one position in Sports Illustrated's Five-Star High School Power Rankings

Learning and the Brain Conference Affirms Brewster Curriculum

Through the generous support of Brewster’s professional development program, Dean of Studies Peter Hess attended the Learning and the Brain Conference in Boston in November. The conference brought together teachers, school administrators, psychologists, and clinicians from around the world to hear researchers share their latest discoveries in neuroscience and their implications for teaching, interventions, and curriculum.

Field Hockey Seniors Named to All-Tournament Team

Brewster Academy seniors Hanna Skelley (Wolfeboro) and Amy Misera (Cockeysville, Maryland) were named to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class C Field Hockey All-Tournament Team.
Dance Instructor Ling in NorthEastern Ballet's The Nutcracker
Brewster dance instructor John Ling will perform the leading male role in NorthEastern Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker December 10 and 11. Ling dances the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier.
Athletes Commit to Universities

Field Hockey and Girls' Soccer Advance to Semifinals of NEPSAC Tournaments

Congratulations to the girls' soccer and field hockey teams for winning their quarterfinal games on Wednesday and advancing to the semifinals of the NEPSAC Championship tournaments!
 
The soccer team, seeded #2, defeated seventh seed Newton Country Day 5-0 at home on Palazzo Field.
 
They will play #6 seed Greens Farms Academy (Greens Farms, Connecticut) on Saturday at the Rivers School at 2 p.m. The Rivers School is in Weston, Massachusetts (directions).
 
The seventh seed field hockey team, which is defending its 2010 NEPSAC title, beat second seed Canterbury School 2-1 on the road. They will play #3 seed Tilton School on Saturday at Dexter Southfield School at 2 p.m. Dexter Southfield School is located in Brookline, Massachusetts (directions).
 
Good luck to both Bobcat teams!
