Brewster Tops Tilton in Front of Record-Breaking Crowd at Smith Center
Before the largest home crowd in history, with sports reporters from The New York Times, the local ABC news affiliate, among other media outlets, and college scouts throughout the packed gym, Brewster improved to 28-0 on the season with a win over Tilton School, 60-56.
TJ Warren '12 Selected to Play in The McDonald's All American Game
Brewster forward TJ Warren '12 (Raleigh, NC) has been selected to participate in the McDonald's All American Game, which will be played Wednesday, March 28th at the United Center in Chicago and televised live on ESPN.  Warren signed in the fall with North Carolina State University and is the first Brewster player to be honored with selection to the premier high school boys all star game.

Student Artwork Selected to Exhibit at Silver Center for the Arts
Hiroshi Tanaka ’12 (Aichi, Japan) and Juliet Hadley ’15 (Tuftonboro) recently had artwork selected to exhibit at the Friends of the Arts show at the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University. Hiroshi also won the “Award for Excellence in Sculpture” for his “Love Story” sculpture. His other piece that will display is his textile work “Denim Bag.” Juliet’s 19” ceramic “Backbone” was selected.

Employees Recognized for Service to Brewster

Eighteen employees were recognized on January 21 at a luncheon with the trustees for their years of service to Brewster. Employees received recognition pins for their respective 25, 20, 15, 10, or five years of service.
Trey Whitfield School Choir Returns to Brewster

Head of School Mike Cooper opened today’s All School with a warm welcome to Brewster’s “extended family” from the Trey Whitfield School. Trey’s parent’s, AB Whitfield and Janie Whitney, brought friends, faculty members, and the Trey Whitfield School Choir to this annual celebration of Trey’s life. Cooper described today as the year’s “best All School."

The Commission on Independent Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) recently commended Brewster Academy on the school’s five-year interim evaluation report.
Brewster Defeats Tilton Live on ESPN

On January 15, the Bobcats tipped-off against Tilton School at the 2012 Spalding Hoophall Classic, a game that will be televised live on ESPN. Brewster won the game in what was a close, exciting match up. The Brewster Bobcats have maintained their pre-season number one position in Sports Illustrated's Five-Star High School Power Rankings
NSCAA Names Matt Butcher Coach of the Year

Girls' varsity soccer coach, Matt Butcher was recently named Regional Prep School Coach of the Year by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America)
Soccer Players Named to All-Star Teams

Four girls' varsity soccer players were selected to the Lakes Region All-Star Team and one of the four was named to the Boston Globe New England Preparatory School Athletic Association All-Star team.

Girls’ soccer standout Lydia Simmons (Londonderry, New Hampshire) is currently attending an Under-17 Women’s National Team camp at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. 
Learning and the Brain Conference Affirms Brewster Curriculum

Through the generous support of Brewster’s professional development program, Dean of Studies Peter Hess attended the Learning and the Brain Conference in Boston in November. The conference brought together teachers, school administrators, psychologists, and clinicians from around the world to hear researchers share their latest discoveries in neuroscience and their implications for teaching, interventions, and curriculum.

Girls' Soccer Stopped in Finals of NEPSAC Tournament

On Sunday, the Lady Bobcats and St. Luke's School gave fans 80 minutes of awesome high school soccer; however, at the final whistle it was 1-0 for St. Luke's.
 
Dance Instructor Ling in NorthEastern Ballet's The Nutcracker
Brewster dance instructor John Ling will perform the leading male role in NorthEastern Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker December 10 and 11. Ling dances the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier.
America Recycles Day

America Recycles Day is 11-15-11. Brewster students will be holding a recycled art fashion show in honor of the day, and will track our school's recycling progress in the Recycle Bowl Competition with just one day left.
