Beauty and the Beast
February 16 and 17 -- Brewster's Performing Arts is proud to present Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". This classic fairy tale tells the story of Belle (played by Shira Braiterman '13), a bookish country girl who dreams of living a life beyond her small, provincial town. Belle's father, Maurice (played by ESL Director Peter Moses), wanders into the lair of the Beast (Alberto Riveria-Barletto '13), a prince who was changed into a monstrous Beast by an Enchantress (Molly Kolb '12). The Beast imprisons Maurice, and Belle exchanges her freedom to free her father. She finds herself living in an enchanted castle, filled with former servants who have become a Clock (Addie Murray '12), a Candlestick (Zoe Lindgren '13) and a Teapot (Olivia Hadley '12) among other things. The Beast need only fall in love, and be loved in return, to break the spell and free himself and the others.
The cast includes both drama students and students who have joined the production to take on a new experience. Showtime is at 7 p.m. on February 16 and 17.
